Enabling works for the next phase of the Cheshunt Lakeside development are about to begin.
These works comprise site clearance and demolition of the two former Last Brothers buildings on Delamare Road. The contractor appointed by Inland Homes to carry out this work is Downwell Demolition Ltd.
Downwell Demolition will begin during week commencing 11 January 2021.
Work will be carried-out within the following site hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 to 18:00 Saturday 8:00 to 13:00. No work will be carried out on Sundays or Bank Holidays.
Initial work includes site clearance, internal strip-out of the buildings and asbestos removal. A Refurbishment and Demolition survey has been completed which identified minimal asbestos content within the buildings. Removal and disposal will be carried out by a competent contractor.
Demolition will follow, together with removal of existing foundations and hardstandings. Works are expected to take approximately six weeks to complete.
Downwell Demolition will maintain secure site boundaries and, for the protection of the public and the site, Inland Homes will continue to have CCTV camera pods in place to monitor during non-working hours and at weekends.
